About the event
The Book Club Reading Group
Inspired by the ideas of “re-enchantment” and “commoning”, we will engage with a variety of texts and weave together our personal experiences and thoughts. The structure of the group aims to create a comfortable, non-hierarchical creative space where we can meet and share ideas.
Bringing the theory to life ♡
We will discuss texts -including fiction, essays, academic works, and poetry- that encourage shifts in perspective; proposing ways of thinking, ways of seeing and feeling the world which are questioning and moving beyond the dominant narratives in our society.
Jodie Chinn is a British interdisciplinary artist based in Barcelona. She studied Design at Goldsmiths, University of London and Sound Art at Escola Massana. Jodie Chinn's practice is typically collaborative, interactive and experiential. Last year she ran a reading group based on the book Re-enchanting the World: Feminism and the Politics of the Commons by Silvia Federici and it is these ideas of “re-enchantment” and “commoning” discussed by Federici which will also inspire the form and topics of this group.

Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power by Audre Lorde
